Northern Beaches in a Bottle
A fascinating aquatic scent that I think approximates the smell of a beach better than most others. Granted, this isn't a tropical beach or even a Mid-Atlantic one (to my nose). New England, Canada, or even Scandinavian would be more in line. Each whiff is a salty breeze, carrying fresh seaweed, still resinous evergreen driftwood, and hints of lemon. There's this undercurrent of boreal forest woodiness that balances it really beautifully. The end result is fresh and green, yet undeniably aquatic. It's a sea breeze without the less pleasant notes.
Longevity is its most lacking area, only lasting 3-4 hours with decent projection only in the first 1-2 hours. I do wish it lasted a bit longer, but I am interested to see how layering it might help boost its lifetime. For those who also have I Don't Know What by D.S. & Durga, this layers with it very well, since they share the bergamot note and it brings forth the more pingy notes of citrus, algae, and wood.
Perhaps not the marine scent that everyone expects or is looking for, but it's a really excellent and wearable summer scent.
