A brooding gaze
over a high-collared
rose petal collar.
The world mentally dissected
into root, earth, bloom, herb & wood.

Great words! I'm really looking forward to the test as well - but I can definitely handle rose & thoughts!

Ah, you haven't yet! I can think better than is sometimes good for me 😂 with roses... you know.

Sounds really beautifully crafted, if it weren't for the iris...

I generally have no problem with iris, but here I'm feeling a bit uneasy about it too.

This meticulous mental dissection of the world is completely foreign to me. Who does that?!
I doubt this intellectual, French rose (I've shoved it into my French drawer) would be mine. However, your black turtleneck red lipstick picture is fabulous! :)

And meticulous world dissection? Pah! That's foreign to me! *gently and inconspicuously puts down the magnifying glass and scalpel*

Very French, although it doesn't smell French at all, if you know what I mean.
I was inspired by the picture for my outfit yesterday to celebrate the day ;)

I also steer clear of brooding existentialist roses; I think I'm having a rose crisis right now. But beautifully described, and the feeling of wanting to capture a concept is so frustrating-I feel you.

@Jeob I’ve now sold the only rose in my collection, the Noir de Noir twin from Armaf. You liked Tobacco Rose, if I remember correctly?
But these taste fluctuations can go the other way too: a sudden love for a note that then just disappears (for me, that’s jasmine and violet).

I, on the other hand, am currently going through a rose phase, but with the narrowest tolerance range in the world ;)
Isn't it interesting, these temporary note crises?
I recently had that with iris, but it has passed now.

... I could definitely relate more to the rose than to the curry phantom.

I've temporarily made peace with roses, but my tolerance for them is very narrow ;)

Existentialist rose with carrot curry? What will they think of next?

Very beautiful, rosy opening, then quickly joined by green, bitter-spicy aspects of angelica and juniper, a slightly buttery, carrot-like iris note, as well as a delicate straw flower curry phantom. The combination of bitter notes, patchouli, and rose creates an association in my nose that almost drives me crazy because I can't name it: some specific type of black tea (too drawn out) infused with rose petals. Very uniquely interpreted. Neither a rose in an evening gown nor a rose in a girly look, but rather a rather serious, somewhat awkward existentialist rose in a black turtleneck, pondering over an emptiness. Many thanks to @SirLancelot!
