A Part of the SSRI Fruity-Floral Tsunami
I am starting to think that this type of bright and citrusy fruity-floral composition which I keep bumping into is some sort of sketch exercise which budding perfumers for Robertet, Firmenich, Givaudan et al. have to present before graduation. Seriously, they all smell very, very similar to me, including Henri Bendel SPRING BLOSSOMS & AGAVE. They lie approximately half-way between the house of Fresh, with its super bright and densely packed citrus line-up and the house of Philosophy, with its synthetic fruity-floral line-up.
Like Salvatore Ferragamo BLISS and Moschino CHEAP & CHIC HIPPIE FIZZ, this SSRI offering from Henri Bendel opens as an energizing slightly sweet citrus fragrance with a strong fruity-abstract floral foundation. It's cheerful and upbeat and conveys a "Can do" impression. These fragrances remind me of a smiling customer service representative who has figured out how to cope with even the surliest of disgruntled customers. Just smile and be polite and remember that "Customer is King."
