A sketch of nothingness

Modern freshness. Metallic-greenish-citrusy-sweetish-spicy. As if chased through a diffuser. Dry. Grainy. Spherical. A tart, fruity ginger note. Hints of cinnamon. Vetiver tips. And, above all, sclarene, a fully synthetic component with a white shirt effect that has been starched in the hot mangle. Metallic musk. A little stiff. Hermès elegance tangentially off. How does Nagel do it? That remains her secret. But it has something. A sketch of nothingness. Like haze over a coastal landscape. Like a lonely Bauhaus bungalow on the American west coast. Barren, empty, lingering. A hybrid between rutting aromachemical perfume and classic French noblesse. An artificial artifact with hidden nature. Ambivalent. On the verge of attention deficit syndrome. In small doses, it is an unagitated, elegant fragrance with all-round qualities that lingers in the memory. You can say worse things about a fragrance.

I liked it right away - a fragrance that is inconspicuous (for others) and also striking (for oneself) - fresh and elegant - one of the most successful nail compositions.

It took me a little while to warm up to it. I'm not really into it, the synthetic base is a little too concise for me. But it's also one of the better nail compositions for me. Thank you for your visit, dear B. 🙏😊

Good description. Short, crisp and to the point. I've never had anything against a bit of synthetics.
ParmaParma 10 days ago
I don't either. It should just be well integrated and not too concise, so that the fragrance doesn't come across as predominantly artificial. Thank you for the lovely feedback, dear M. 🙏😊

Fascinating description. I think the nail can do something.

Thank you, dear M. 🙏😊 I have my problems with Nagel. I think she overemphasizes the synthetic ingredients in her fragrances. Apart from that, she comes up with interesting DNAs.

I'll take the Bauhaus bungalow and spray something else!!!

You liked it better.
I can't cope with the 0815 base, but the beginning is quite unique.
I'm also team @Yatagan

I had read your review of it. It really is a big change from the usual and I can absolutely understand your impression of the base. Because that's where this "rutty" aroma chemical is located. That's why I was on the same level as you when the fragrance came out, but little by little I've also discovered a few advantages. For example, this understated Hermès elegance. Always under the condition of sparing dosage, of course. I was very happy about your visit, dear K. 🙏😊

Very good classification! I struggled with this one for a Hermès (used to be one of my favorite brands: Bel Ami, Eau d'Orange Verte, Equipage, Eau d'Hermès) extremely difficult (6.5).

I can understand that very well. It is also - in comparison - a less traditionally "French" fragrance, which also lacks the very independent character of those mentioned. It is more streamlined and more synthetic. A child of our time. That's why I was very disappointed at first, but now I can get something out of it - perhaps also influenced by current developments. Nice that you were there, dear A. 🙏😊

Wonderful description - and now I really want to try this "hybrid between rutting aromachemical perfume and classic French noblesse".
ParmaParma 11 days ago
I'm so glad you like the wording too, dear ElAttarine 😁 And I can't wait to hear what you think of it! Thank you so much for your visit 🙏😊

" between rutting aromachemical perfume and classic French noblesse" - ha! It's now my favorite among the newer 'designer' fragrances. Really good.

I once read somewhere here that you really like it (maybe you even wrote it to me 😅). At first I was quite disappointed with it, I found it very meaningless and streamlined, but now I have to say that it has something. Hence the ambivalence in the text. That's always a good sign with fragrances when they have such a lasting effect and undergo a positive development in one's own perception. It's not for nothing that it remains so stable at Hermès. Thank you for your visit, dear F. 🙏😊

That sounds like a pleasant synthetic.
ParmaParma 11 days ago
I'd say it's quite well integrated here and doesn't push itself directly into the foreground. For me, it is just at the limit of what is tolerable. 2 sprays are enough for my taste. Nice that you were there, dear F. 🙏😊

You hit the scent impression exactly as I experience it. Carefully dosed, it is a pleasure. Personally, I get on better with the EdP, as it is inherently less projecting.
ParmaParma 11 days ago
Thank you for your kind feedback 🙏😊 I like the EdP just as much, I find it a little fuller, spicier and a little less fresh. The lower sillage would also suit me with the fragrance. I would have to test it again in a direct comparison.

I didn't think it was wrong either. I can well imagine it as a signature fragrance for a gentleman.
ParmaParma 11 days ago
Yes, it definitely has the potential and is certainly designed that way by Hermès. You can always wear it. Thank you, dear V. 🙏😊

A sketch of nothingness... Wonderfully described and immediately aroused a delicate curiosity.
