L'Ombre des Merveilles Hermès 2020

First of all: I lack elegance.
I have often been accused of this.
I am not young. I am educated. And well-read.
I love art, theater and music.
But elegant, no, that's not me.
"Dress up, we're going out." I've heard that many times.
But all attempts to live up to it have failed.
When I put on a shift dress, I feel dressed up.
If I wear high heels, either the heel or the ankle breaks after a few moments.
My hair is usually tangled. Nail polish splinters immediately after application. Lipstick only lasts a few moments.
Jeans, T-shirt, sneakers - that's me. This is how I feel real.

But now I have you.
L'Ombre des Merveilles, you scent of shadows.

Elegant?

You don't boast with exotic notes. You don't push yourself into the foreground.
Nothing about you is shrill, nothing loud, nothing flashy.
You don't value compliments.
You're just you.

Black tea, incense, a hint of tonka.
Not too much, you don't pretend to be something you're not.
You are proof that less is often more.
Like jeans with a white shirt and sneakers.
