Muddy-puddle-joyful start.
Then: interplay of acidity & sweetness,
hints of dates & rose lokum,
ending in balsamic wood.

You've described it really well! One of the most beautiful from the Hind Al Oud collection. It has complex facets that are definitely worth discovering :) Unfortunately, it's totally underrated here in the community since it's not that well-known.

Great scent progression, quite complex despite fewer notes.

Before the beginning, I would have too much respect...

As an Oud novice, which I undoubtedly still am, I have to say: Yes, the beginning is a bit challenging, but it settles down pretty quickly (a few minutes) and then it gets really nice.
Now, at the very end: fruity-sweet woodiness layered with classic Arabic spices.
It's really well done! :)

I'm out of there quickly when it comes to manure...

I manage just fine with it as a country bumpkin... but sure, I totally get it if someone finds it off-putting and quickly wants to make a run for it ;)

Dates and rose Turkish delight don't appeal to me at all.

I really like both :)
However, the latter should be only slightly sweet, which is hard to find around here.

I like it challenging - simple scents have to really "hit" me to get a high rating these days - I prefer ones like this to be a bit more under the radar :)

Rosenlokum sounds terrible.

only detectable in the background & close to the skin, with fruity wood in the sillage & now after 5 hours even slightly smoky.

Interesting ... sounds like a successful Oud-Orient (semi?) gourmand.

tends more towards a sour direction for me, almost driftwood-like... sweetness only at the beginning, but thankfully fades away quickly.

Amber is extremely subtle on me, mostly in the background supporting the sweet/sour play. I get a damp, mulch-like impression - like freshly soaked oud chips still in liquid. The dates are classically spiced in an oriental way, and I can also faintly smell hints of freshly cut dried figs.
A fine creation that strongly reminds me of "Oud Assam | Rania J." at first - which, however, retains its animalistic side for much longer.
Sheikh A is absolutely successful and a pleasure to smell.
Thanks to @Danny264 for the lovely sample.
