A Neroli Firework
Neroli, neroli, neroli - and a bit of honey. I quite like neroli, and here it is in all its facets: citrus-y, bitter green, floral, and with a touch of the toasted grain note neroli so often has. The first hour is a shimmering wall of neroli, and its charm to you will be predicated on your appreciation of neroli above all else.
Tryst fades quite rapidly, however. An hour in, I mostly get hay, honey, and the ghost of an orange blossom note. By three hours in, it’s gone. Even compared to other Hiram Greens, Tryst is ephemeral, and very top-heavy: it goes from being very loud to being a whisper in a hurry.
I am mostly positive on the smell, but the simplicity of the structure, combined with its top-heavy nature, means I can’t quite endorse Tryst fully.
