Boss Orange Hugo Boss 2009 Eau de Toilette

.. or "Boss Orange" is really not good.

At first, it smells like synthetic apple and synthetic orange. If "synthetic" were good, this Eau de Toilette would get full marks. The slightly floral note might be there, but it’s well hidden behind the overwhelming chemical sweetness that literally suffocates you and surrounds you like a heavy cloud. The base note takes a long time to appear, but when it does, it’s actually surprisingly pleasant. Vanilla and orange dominate here and complement each other nicely. However, the scent remains somewhat synthetic until the end, even if it becomes significantly better and more wearable.

If this fragrance were available for a few euros at the drugstore, I might pick it up for casual wear. Unfortunately, it's rather disappointing for a Boss scent. The advertising suggests a feeling of carefree lightness and spontaneity, which, after spraying, just doesn’t come to me. I also find the price-performance ratio completely unjustified. Longevity is so-so. Besides that, I have another "problem" with "Boss Orange": For summer, it is mostly too sticky-sweet and too synthetic; for winter, it’s not intense enough. Especially for spring/fall, there are so many beautiful fragrances that it seems pointless for me to revert to "that one."
