Slightly Stifling Spring Day

Hello and good evening everyone. Today I will describe the fragrance “Woman” (EDT) by Hugo Boss. Since I’m sure everyone should know this scent, I’ll keep it brief this evening and give a quick description.

Now you’re probably wondering why I’m even writing this, right? The answer is simple and multifaceted! :D First of all, I have to give my two cents on everything! Secondly, I had a sample of this, and it would have been a shame to let those few drops go to waste. And thirdly, I’m just sitting around here despite the nice weather and thought I’d test a few fragrances :DD

Oh, and don’t be mad if you find the scent divine or if it’s a classic for you, because I didn’t really like it!

**The Fragrance:**
What I smell here is actually exactly what is listed in the fragrance pyramid in the top notes. Aquatic notes with green, sour apple. Along with that, there are slightly stifling flowers or blossoms that I can’t quite identify. According to the description, it could be lilies, but to me, they smell more like freesias at the beginning, but what do I know about flowers?! Anyway, the start is fresh and light.
Be that as it may, there is a noticeable amount of synthetic scent, as one would generally expect from such fragrances. Even later, the scent remains mostly aquatic-synthetic and continues to smell of apple. However, it later develops a slight, sweet note that at least (for now) softens the somewhat stifling floral notes a bit. In the end, though, this sweetness weakens again, causing the floral notes to unfortunately become quite stifling again, to the point where they become so intensely annoying that I eventually had to wash my arm because of it…

**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is mediocre to rather weak, so it will be best perceived only up close. The longevity should be about five hours (maybe longer,… as I said, I couldn’t stand the scent after a few hours…), which is okay for summer fragrances.

**The Bottle:**
The bottle is the rounder version of the well-known “field bottle,” so you can also see the cap resembling a screw top. Aside from the cap, the rest of the bottle is rather unremarkable and quite simple.

Yes, as I mentioned at the beginning, I don’t find this scent particularly great. I even find the base horrendous. It smells very banal to me; I find other mainstream scents (which also have quite synthetic notes, so that’s not necessarily the issue) much better, like CK for example. And no, it’s not because my nose has become snobbish after so many fragrances and only likes more expensive niche scents; it’s much more because this fragrance has really annoyed me with its dry and sour-stifling floral notes and its very unpleasant scent.

In any case, this fragrance is good for anyone who still likes it, usable in spring and summer if you want to feel slightly stifled,… um… I actually meant if you’re looking for something light, fresh, and not too strong that won’t annoy anyone at work or elsewhere. But in my opinion, you won’t stand out with it, so it’s not suitable for going out.

Well, that’s it. In short: I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this fragrance. Soo! I wish you a lovely evening and a few nice days; it’s warm, so enjoy the weather and don’t waste time with fragrances like I’m doing right now! :DD
