Coincidence
I came across this fragrance rather by chance. A dear colleague received it as a gift and couldn't quite warm up to it. She then simply gifted it to me (after all, 75 ml ... quite generous!), because I found it interesting. Yes, and then it just sat around in the office waiting for me.
At some point, I took a more intense sniff, applied it to my wrists and neck, and felt very ambivalent.
On the surface, it has a bit of a sharpness (could that be the jasmine?) and initially gives the impression that it smells like many others. But it felt powerful, fresh, and a bit energetic, although it lacked a bit of warmth ... so I wasn't particularly taken with it. However, since it was very warm at the time (I mean, it was midsummer and the sun was blazing into my office), I found it pleasant to have the fresh aquatic note around me and on me.
I got used to it, though, and no longer perceived it as something special.
When I went to bed late at night and sniffed my wrist, I thought: what is this incredibly fine, powerful, sensual scent??? What did I wear today *pondering*??? I remembered the test of this fragrance and was simply blown away: a sensual, enchanting, and intimate something had developed quietly and subtly, which felt or smelled as if it were made just for me. The scent of the base note has almost a childlike innocence to me.
It's strange how much the first impression and the later sensation differ from each other. (later addition: just saw the name of the perfumer ... Ursula Wandel ... nomen est omen?)
I have actually only had this experience with this one fragrance so far.
In conclusion, I can say I like it, but not all the time. But when I feel like smelling completely different than usual and I have the patience to wait for it to unfold wonderfully hours later, then I am glad it's there, and I take a generous dose!
