Too youthful

A few days ago, when I wanted to buy my Hugo Woman and the bottle looked so
different, I sprayed it just to be sure.
That was not Hugo Woman, so I asked. Yes, it smelled completely different,
it has been re-released, more youthful, the old one is no longer available, I learned from the saleswoman.
Since I wasn't immediately convinced, she gave me 2 samples to test it at my leisure.
However, I don't want to be without my Hugo Woman, so when I got home, I bought out
almost all the stock online.
Still, I decided to try the new Hugo Woman, because eventually
the remaining stock of the old scent will run out.
It's somehow a "chaotic" composition, I think. It starts sweet and fruity, then briefly takes on a bit
of a harshness and ends in a mixture that is undefinable for me. The amber makes it "soft and cuddly"
at the end, yet it retains its fruitiness, is sweet but not sticky sweet. That might be due to the bitter grass note in it.
Hmmm, I thought, not the freshness and everyday suitability of my Everyday Darling, as the old Hugo was, but okay, I'll give it a chance, even though I don't like the fruity aspect that much.
However, I didn't really feel comfortable with it. When my son came home from school and said:
"Wow, Mom, you smell so good. What fragrance is that? I'm going to give it to my girlfriend for her birthday,"
(he is 17 and she is 16 years old) it became clear to me that this scent fits into a different generation.
Not mine anymore. Too youthful indeed.
For young girls, it is surely a great fragrance with class and style, if they can afford it.
And I think it will be very well received and a bestseller.

I'm also sad that the real HUGO is no longer available.
