Vigorous Cologne Hugo Boss 2021

I stumbled upon this fragrance from Hugo Boss quite by chance. It's not really well-known, judging by the current 6 reviews, at least not in this lovely community yet. Perhaps I can help drum up some publicity for Vigorous Cologne with my contribution.

'Vigorous' was a term I wasn't familiar with until now. According to the internet (which I personally believe won't catch on), 'vigorous' means something like 'strong' and 'energetic'.

One thing upfront: The scent is by no means a head note blender! In some statements, people mention that the fragrance has too much synthetic quality. I had that impression during my first testing as well.

The first 20 minutes had a slightly unpleasant sour, stinging component. This reminded me of Bohemian Lime, which I also find rather exhausting in the initial phase.
However, once the opening was over, this Boss revealed its full potential. The orange blossom, rosemary, and I believe there's also a lemon in there, create exactly the composition I wish for in a distinctive cologne. Herb, fresh, with a slight edge and minimal heaviness. Simply dreamy!
Already on the second try, the head note seemed much more pleasant and less synthetic to me.
With the current temperatures around 30°C, though, the good scent is only perceptible for a few hours. Since I currently only have a 5 ml sample, I have to be a bit frugal. At moderate temperatures, the longevity will certainly increase a bit. But one must also not forget that it is, after all, a cologne.

In the few hours when it radiates really well, it is definitely invigorating, fresh, herbaceous, and zesty, making it a very good choice for the hot summer. Whether it can establish itself permanently with me, I can't say at the moment, as it competes with many other summery scents that are already in my collection. But: It was a pleasure to get to know Vigorous Cologne!
