Thank You for the Flowers

Recently, it was on sale at Rossmann. 12 EUR for 50ml is a typical drugstore price, comparable to Tabac Man and others, but here for a 'grown-up' perfume!
You can't go wrong, so I bought it!

The top note starts off fresh and citrusy on paper, slightly green and rounded off by the lavender. It lasts moderately long and then transitions into the heart note with the lavender. On the skin, the lavender is significantly more prominent, while the citrus freshness is only briefly noticeable at the top and then stays in the background. Anything else listed for the top note is not perceptible to me.

The heart note develops equally well on paper and on the skin.
It is distinctly floral and green. I believe I can smell the freesia, maybe violet and jasmine. There is also a slightly smoky note that is perceptible.
The heart note lasts quite long with a sufficient application (4 sprays on the upper body) and becomes a bit milder over time.
The scent seems to drift a bit more towards 'floral scent'.

The base note (paper and skin don't differ much) comes through with musk, wood, and amber, initially fresh, then softer and warmer.
I can't identify any mossy or herbal tones, but it is slightly soapy, especially on paper. And in the long run, leather is also perceptible.

Iceberg Homme is definitely a child of its time, so early 90s, and is more aligned with the Fougère structure.
It reminds me, especially in the heart note, a bit of my 'old love' Herrera for Men.
The opening here is also rather fine aromatic, but the lavender is dominant.
I find the base note well done and it brings its own scent progression. I missed that in HfM.

The longevity is overall good to very good, but the projection is rather weak. HfM does that better.

Not a milestone in perfume history. Not extraordinary.

But on the whole, a good idea and quite decently executed.
Although it certainly fits better in the warmer seasons, it can also be worn in winter under a sweater.

As an everyday and/or office scent, it's not a bad choice, as it's overall pleasant but unobtrusive and yet not a uniform, generic scent.

I will use it more often!

Anyone looking for an affordable yet good perfume should take advantage of the next sale at Rossmann!

Note: The information on the fragrance pyramid from 13.02.2013 has been removed today (05.04.2013), as it has now been supplemented in the product description.

Note 2 (29.04.2013): The spray head is sometimes a bit sticky. Unfortunately. Otherwise, still happily worn.

Note 3 (19.12.2013): Instead of rose (one of my nemeses ;-) ), it is probably the freesia that determines a bright floral scent here.

I tested it today, and at 12 euros on sale, I definitely recommend it! It's still on sale at Rossmann this week.
