I know, I know. You ladies probably love chocolate above all else, but we guys also enjoy this treat very much when our hands aren't stuck in the bowl of peanuts or something, just because we're drinking liters of beer again :D
However, my title doesn't mean that one could endlessly indulge in chocolate for therapeutic purposes, no,… but rather that the chocolate tastes more medicinal,… or in this case, smells…
Which unfortunately isn't very pleasant!
**The Scent:**
At the beginning, you smell chocolate, which is quite nice in itself (every time I phrase it this way, you can probably guess my "but!"), but: I'm simply bothered by the overpowering scent of absinthe, if that's what it is, which I perceive as somewhat unpleasantly bitter and medicinal.
The scent is very prominent, almost biting, and in my opinion, it prevents one from truly enjoying all the other, otherwise lovely fragrance notes.
If you try to smell "beside" the absinthe at the sprayed spot (however that should work :D), you can also detect a bit of peach.
Of course, over time the absinthe becomes weaker, but it is almost always distinctly noticeable.
Pomegranate seems to have been clicked several times in the fragrance pyramid, yet somehow I can't smell this otherwise delicious fruit.
In the base, you can now also smell the almonds, which is surely due to the heliotrope. But since the biting absinthe simply doesn't want to dissipate, you can't really enjoy this either, if you, like me, aren't too fond of this scent. Only much later does the absinthe or the disturbing note become weaker (but still present!), allowing you to smell the chocolate scent better. But until then… well…
**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The projection is mediocre and leaves only a slight scent cloud, if at all. This means you have to get a bit closer to smell it on someone.
The longevity is better, as the scent lasts easily for eight hours or even a bit longer.
**The Bottle:**
The bottle is rectangular, has a yellowish fragrance liquid, and is topped with a column-like, golden cap. The label on the front has a beautifully decorated frame and looks good as a result. Still, everything is a bit simple, but not bad.
Based on my fragrance description, you have surely figured out that I will not be a fan of this scent. I mean, I love chocolate too; I even considered whether I should get L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme the EDP, even though I have the EDT, since the EDP simply smells more chocolatey.
But I don't want to digress. Although Chocolat Frais contains chocolate notes, the medicinal, biting absinthe ruins the enjoyment for a longer time, and even in the base, the scent still fails to smell really nice. If the absinthe doesn't bother you, then you can take a look at it. In that case, the scent would be an all-rounder, suitable for any season. And due to the not very high sillage, it is more usable as a daytime fragrance.
I advise everyone else to try other chocolates, um, fragrance-wise of course, but you can also eat chocolate, as there are currently great chocolate Christmas figures he he he
Oh, and the scent doesn't smell spoiled now, but it doesn't smell good either. … um… can chocolate actually spoil quickly? I've never experienced that, except that sometimes it somehow turns "white" :D
