The Phantom of the Theater
I must mention at the outset that I had tested the fragrance before and had only written a statement. Back then, I could hardly perceive anything and wanted to give the scent a second chance.
I want to be honest. With this name and the bright red bottle, I expected a fragrance that seems to scream: “Voilá! Look here, here I am!”
But this is not the case. Quite the opposite. The scent is reserved and delicate, almost translucent.
A hairspray-powder-lipstick scent. Here, however, the lipstick clearly takes center stage. Yet the lipstick accord has a slight theatrical makeup touch. But I think that adds a certain charm.
The top note also has a splash of acidity, but here it clearly plays a supporting role.
Over time, the only change I can perceive is that the iris from the base note quietly joins in, so as not to interrupt the performance.
However, there would be no time for more transformation, as the performance lasts no longer than 2 hours. The longevity thus leaves much to be desired. As for the sillage and projection, any word would be too much. A scent like a phantom. Or should one say phantomette? A slender, pitiful phantomette. You perceive that something is happening. You don’t know how it is happening to you. And before you can think about it, it’s over in a flash. Was there something?!
As for the price-performance ratio, it is as underground as the catacombs beneath the theater, which our phantomette probably calls home.
For my part, I also don’t need an encore!
