Mouson Lavendel, you beautiful lavender from long ago!
My mother was lucky enough to snag an unused bottle of this wonderful, unfortunately long-discontinued fragrance Mouson Lavendel! Why this beautiful, nature-inspired lavender scent was discontinued is a mystery to me, as it was a classic from 1933 that, to my knowledge, managed to stay on the market until the 1970s! It is truly a shame that this lovely cologne is no longer available for purchase in any perfume shop or drugstore, as it is a discontinued product! The scent of lavender in Mouson Lavendel reminds me quite a bit of the old lavender by Lohse from the late 1980s. But this fragrance seems to have been reformulated by now, that’s the impression I have. But that’s just a side note!
Mouson Lavendel has a strong, robust yet refreshing lavender scent, which also possesses a spicy and almost ethereal lavender note. After about 20 minutes, the freshness and the impression of an ethereal lavender scent fade, leaving behind a spicy, moderately robust lavender fragrance that also carries a hint of warmth! I also perceive a subtle scent of vanilla and woodruff here! A lovely, relaxing blend that works for me :-)
This Eau de Cologne is listed here as a women's fragrance, which I personally cannot quite understand, as this treasure does not have a typically feminine scent character in my opinion! I perceive Mouson Lavendel as a classic unisex fragrance that can be perfectly worn by men of all ages, just as well as by women!
I would rate the longevity of Mouson Lavendel as good, as the scent does not dissipate too quickly, lasting 2-3 hours on my skin! I perceive the sillage as light to medium strong...
Perfume fans who love the naturally robust and spicy scent of lavender from the bottle should definitely try to find this "old" well-known lavender water somewhere, it is truly worth it! On some well-known internet auction platforms, you might still have the luck to find an unopened bottle!
You're so right! ML smells just like the lavender fields in the sun of southern France, and also like the best dried lavender sachets. That's why you noticed the woodruff-coumarin scent. For me, it's still THE lavender fragrance.
That sounds interesting. The bottle looks familiar; I think one like that was in my grandmother's bathroom when I remember correctly. Back then, as a child, I didn't like lavender, but that's changed a lot now!
Hi Smelli, I don't know the other scents from Mouson unfortunately. But this gem here has really captured my heart :-) just, you have to be really lucky to find it unused.
