From One Who Set Out Not to Become a Bond Girl

I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but I’ve only seen one James Bond film in my life. These movies are absolutely not my thing. Although I am always quite enthusiastic about the music.

Well then. I saw 007 Woman here some time ago and thought the fragrance notes sounded very interesting. I had intended to test it out when the opportunity arose.

I’ve done that now and I must say, I like it. Upon the first spray, I immediately notice the blackberry combined with the rose milk. Although the rose doesn’t really come through for me. It becomes creamy sweet but never too sweet. Jasmine gives it a floral touch. Vanilla and cedarwood allow the scent to fade gently.

The sillage is rather close to the skin and the longevity is about 5 hours.

But I must admit that the scent doesn’t match the bottle, or the bottle doesn’t match the scent. To be honest, I expected something different. 007 Woman is not a scent for a Bond girl. It’s a discreet yet beautiful everyday fragrance. More suited for the nice girl next door.

But what can I say? I am the nice girl next door. And let’s face it, no matter how hard I try, I am and will never be a Bond girl. I am neither sultry, nor dangerous, nor perfect. I am also not a femme fatale. And I don’t want to be. I am an ordinary woman with ordinary flaws.

Some clever person once said: "Show me a woman without complexes and I’ll show you a unicorn."
That’s not entirely untrue.

And maybe, just maybe, James Bond would be better off with a nice girl next door too.

Thanks for this insightful and enjoyable comment. I really like the movies, but I definitely wouldn't want to be a Bond girl. Too stressful. I'm no star, and certainly not a Bond girl. But I'm nice. Most of the time. When I want to be. :-)

I tested it again earlier and ended up buying it at the end of my city stroll. I think it's lovely - soft and subtle. A real go-to.

I really like the Bond movies and will give it another try. So far, I only know it from the paper strip, and I didn't find it anything special, but it was okay. Your comment makes me curious for a proper test.

I would put it in the same category as Black Opium. I don't think it's bad, but there's some note in it that bothers me.

I can't really get into Bond either... I tested the scent on a strip today and didn't think it was bad at all, nice for everyday wear. However, the packaging and advertising raise different expectations. It's quite mild!

Great comment! :) I still have it here to test... I don't think I've ever watched a Bond film all the way through - it's just not my thing... sympathy points ;)

Well written. I’ve also smelled the new fragrance, but it was a bit too tame for me... but hey, I’m not a girl (I’m a woman) and not really nice... Cheers, your M.C.
