Aged Oscar enjoys toothless tea under the gentle fig sun, the soft moss blanket wrapped tightly around him. Is this still wild? +

I think I'm like @Naninonunom: Sometimes I like things to be low-key.

Then it might bring you more joy than it did for me 😊 I was hoping for something a bit sharper.

I'm not so sure... But with fig, I'm glad it comes off more timid than "wild" :-)

Absolutely not wild, I get a rather vague sweetness that I suppose belongs to the fig. As pronounced as it sometimes is, it's absolutely not here.

Oh man, it really doesn't seem to meet your expectations and the concept at all... But looking at your description, if I rephrase it to sound a bit more casual, it actually sounds wonderful to my nose ;))

Hmm, you might be right. If you approach the scent that way, it could work - so as always, it’s best to test it yourself ;)

Yes, that's how today's bases are. First enticing, then leaving you out in the rain.

Too bad, toothless Oscar is not Wilde, and the absent garden carnation could have been my highlight in something that... well... otherwise sounds quite trivial.

Yes, I missed the clove too and I think the people in charge could have done more with that somewhat undefined spiciness in between... 😞 There was definitely more potential.

Yeah, that pretty much captures what the scent conveys too ;)

No, that's not wild. More like a nicely manicured English front garden, right?

I don't know it unfortunately, Masque is so hard to test (find). But it's been on my wishlist for a long time 😅

You described that well; it feels the same to me. As I said, I like Hemingway by Masque so much better.

I don't really like it either...

No, that was unfortunately disappointingly shallow. I really missed the garden clove and the depth of the vetiver.

His fur is no longer wild. 😅 Wilderness without teeth, I guess.

This wilderness really leans towards an English landscape garden.

Absolutely not. Nice idea, but way too shallow.

Because of Oscar Wilde? :-)
But it really does sound quite mild...

Yes, the house has a series themed around writers, and this one features Oscar Wilde. Well, maybe if he had lived twice as long as he actually did.

I actually find the notes quite fitting for Oscar Wilde, but it just lacks depth and complexity.

As we age, even the "wild" gets refined!

Age softens😉 but that really doesn't match the image of him.

I thought the same. I especially missed the garden clove, and the vetiver here is just too smooth.

I’m amazed at how something so insignificant can be created from some of my favorite notes, and I’m confusedly searching for the namesake writer in this mild summer breeze. Overall, I completely agree with @Floyd (thank you for the sample). After a refreshing green burst, the scent becomes increasingly softer. The tea joins in and quickly smooths out all the grape-juicy, harsh edges. Since that’s still not enough softening, a thick, fluffy moss blanket reveals only a vaguely woody-green, somewhat powdery and half-fruity vetiver fig from the other notes as it develops. Especially in the last hours, it becomes noticeably sweeter and feels so fluffy to me that I would have expected something more musky. The scent is absolutely wearable, doesn’t clash, and with its mild green character, it’s also very unisex. And boring.
If we’re talking writers and vetiver, I’d much prefer Masques Hemingway!
