5Scent 7.5Longevity

Interesting but not convincing!

Of all people, I, the Rose Girl from parfumo, couldn't get along with Ombre Rose and Fleur d'Ombre Rose by Brosseau at all. Too sweet, too artificial, and too fleeting were these roses. However, I was very curious about the mint-violet variant.

In the opening, the mint is 100% present! Fresh, green, and very pleasant, but mainly accompanied by melon and black currant, with only a very slight hint of bergamot. I would have preferred more bergamot here instead of the black currant. However, melon and black currant disappear after a few minutes, but the mint remains prominent.

Then the violet joins in, but in full strength, so that rose and peony, and especially the white flowers, don't get many chances. At this stage, it is a beautiful, mint-fresh violet scent that would be very suitable as a daytime fragrance. But unfortunately...

Because regrettably, musk now also penetrates the fragrance and makes it somehow musty. The heart note had started so beautifully with a minty violet. Such an unusual but very beautiful scent, which is unfortunately overpowered too early by the musk.

Sadly, the lovely woody base cannot change this, as the musty-sweet smell that sets in early unfortunately remains.

It's a pity, the idea and the approach to the fragrance are so good that it could have been a really beautiful scent.
However, the processes are not right here, and the portioning is, in my opinion, flawed, so that a good opportunity for a small masterpiece has unfortunately been missed.
I think I’ll pass on the Brosseau fragrances; they probably won't work on my skin.
