When you smell both Scherrer fragrances and understand number 2, it makes it all the more painful that Jean-Louis had to experience such a tragic end to his signature in 1990.
People will long remember those glamorous times with nostalgia; what followed was pure disillusionment.
Fortunately, this precious Cypriot-oriental gem is still around!
I admit that the top note is quite demanding; you have to get through the spiciness of angelica and the somewhat piercing violet leaf, but then a wonderful and warm composition follows!
Extremely beautiful woods, slightly autumnal with the cinnamon and a bit cheeky with vetiver.
The resins elegantly flatter, lightly ambered.
Not to mention the perfectly arranged floral bouquet.
And then there's the successful animalic note, dignified like sable.
The scent remains on a captivating and elegant level, which is very rare to find today.
