I have been a fan of this sun perfume for years now.
The first Divine by Gaultier was a very sweet-floral scent for me - almost like a flower meadow in southern France, near the sea. The salt remained somewhat in the background for me, overshadowed by the floral scent.
The second Divine, Le Parfum, brought out the salty-aquatic notes more distinctly and was no longer quite as sweet and floral. Here, the Divine accord truly shone for me: the sea association became more present and pronounced.
With the third Divine, Elixir, I still find the basic idea of a summer day by the sea completely palpable - the salt remains, but the scent becomes earthier, leatherier, and visually fits the browner bottle. After spraying, I sense alongside the sweetness a leathery-earthy accord that almost leans towards tobacco. For me, the aquatic and salty notes are still clearly present, contrary to what some reviewers claim. It feels like a different place by the sea: less floral meadow, more warm earth, leather, and sun on salted skin - perhaps even with a hint of sunscreen.
I really like this new, exciting direction - sweet, salty, aquatic, and earthy all at once. A great addition to the Divine line!
Nice comparison. The first one in the series reminds me of Olympea. I also think the Elixir is really beautiful; the sunscreen and salt notes come through nicely.
