I like the scent well on the test strip. But on my skin, it develops very strongly in a powdery direction without cardamom and comes across as very feminine.
I wore the scent again a week later and my girlfriend asked me in the evening, "Why are you wearing women's perfume again today? That doesn't suit you." I have read almost all the reviews and statements, and I am surprised that none of you feel this way.
It is definitely not masculine enough for me.
Longevity and sillage: very good.
Bottle: very stylish and elegant.
As is typical with JPG, a head note blender. For me, the scent also develops into a pure powdery fragrance after 30 minutes. Ultra Male is still wearable for men, but the EDP is not at all. But that initial top note...damn...so sexy.
No LeMale perfume is as "truly" masculine. That's why it caused a stir back then. There hadn't been anything like it for men until then. And that's why I didn't buy a single one - until I tested "Le Parfum" two years ago. I liked it.
Masculine perfumes are a whole different story. In my opinion, all iris scents are out.
The lines between women's and men's perfumes are almost non-existent now.
So: test it yourself and don’t just buy what someone recommended on YouTube. I know that from experience.
I actually don't see it that way at all. But it's fascinating that you have L'homme Ideal EdP in your collection. My husband has it too, and I would (and will) definitely wear it personally, while Le Male Le Parfum is definitely too masculine for me.
It really shows how subjective perception can be.
But it would be really interesting for me if you could describe which component feels so feminine to you. (Maybe the slightly powdery iris?) Sometimes it makes it easier to understand. :)
From my perspective, it's definitely not a "women's perfume" per se... there are much more feminine scents out there. Still, a woman can definitely wear this one and enjoy it, no doubt about that.
My wife likes the scent... for me, it smells more like a nicely scented woman 🤷♂️
