Le Mâle Lover Jean Paul Gaultier 2024

Break a lance...
I break a lance. Le Mâle Lover currently stands at 7.1 and enjoys little enthusiasm - yet 'Lover' is truly a great fragrance!
I unmistakably perceive the modern Le Male DNA, which I know and love from Le Mâle Le Parfum! Masculine sweetness, no Bubble Gum, but mature, established sweetness. Dominance flanked by motivation and seduction. Self-assured, attractive, not abrasive, but pleasing.
Le Mâle Lover is an all-rounder that, in my view, always works - although in the depths of winter, Le Mâle Le Parfum might indeed take over. In a manageable dosage, Le Mâle Lover works in the office and, at higher concentrations, of course also in the evening hours. Even in the scorching heat of summer, I can easily imagine it - it will be tested live this year!
So why the previously weak rating? Yes, the initial impression is 'shower gel scent' - but that's just the first. The second is directly a seductive Le Male. But it is indeed simple, and that doesn't always suffice for an experienced perfume nose. Its simplicity also makes it so versatile. Every weakness is also a strength...
Don't let yourself be framed, ignore the rating, test the fragrance once and again, and I am sure that Le Mâle Lover will please many. Let's see if we can still reach 8.X over the course of the year!
EDIT:
Regarding the coconut: Yes, there is definitely a coconut accord noticeable. However, it is a creamy coconut, not a fruity one like Virgin Island Water.
