Better Than the First

Tested this today at Kohls. I was super excited when I saw this sitting there and I went straight for it. A few spritzes on my wrist and.... back on the shelf it went. For now. I will end up buying a bottle eventually.
It's a very nice aquatic floral with a touch of saltiness sitting on a woody base. It's still clean smelling like Jennifer's first fragrance, but this one is easier to wear. It's more interesting as well. I got a strong "hairspray" vibe from the first and this one lacks that. Thank goodness.
I sprayed two sprays, one on each wrist about four hours ago and I can still smell it on my skin. It is pretty close to the skin, but it's still there!! Sillage in the beginning was moderate.
All in all I think Jennifer did well with this one. Pretty blue bottle too!

The reason to always give celebrity scents a chance!

Salty aquatic ocean air element, but also mixed with a creamy floral, I believe it's magnolia I smell...like a beautiful white flowering tree. There is a touch of lotion-esque vanilla sweetening the whole thing up. J is the perfect balance of cool aquatic, salty, sweet and floral. As if those 4 elements created a perfect square. I adore the gradient turquoise glass bottle, so tranquil and pretty. This would make such a nice vacation perfume.

Surprisingly different than expected

I’m not really into “star fragrances.” They are usually produced cheaply for the masses and most of the time they unfortunately smell like it too. Exceptions, of course, confirm the rule. With some scents, I even get the impression that the respective “star” hasn’t even smelled the concoction for which they lent their name or sold it…

Jennifer Aniston is an American actress. I don’t find her unsympathetic, but she’s not necessarily one of my favorite actresses either. When J appeared at Douglas, I thought, oh dear, now she’s launching a fragrance too…

But curiosity won, and so I tested this fragrance as well. To my own surprise, it has now become my favorite daytime scent! Here’s how it happened: During the first test, I had so many different scents on my nose and arm that I barely smelled J at all. It wasn’t until the evening that it really came through and I surprisingly liked it. During the next test (with scent-neutral arms), the good impression was confirmed and I bought it right away.

Due to the color of the fragrance and the wave-shaped bottle, I initially thought J was a fresh scent and more suitable for summer, but that’s not the case. J starts off fresh and lightly aquatic with a delicate salty note (it reminds me a bit of Seathalasso in the opening), but then J takes a different direction. The fragrance becomes increasingly warmer, softer, and more floral. The vanilla in the base adds a slight sweetness and gives the fragrance a certain creaminess. J doesn’t have a strong sillage, but it is certainly noticeable. I can smell it distinctly for about 8 hours, which I find remarkable for a rather subtle fragrance. You can also comfortably apply an extra spray of J without any harm.

Conclusion: I am very positively surprised by J. It’s a great, subtle, and extremely pleasant scent that a woman can hardly go wrong with. This fragrance can truly be worn year-round for any occasion. And the price-performance ratio is also commendable: 85 ml EDP is available for 29.95 euros, and a portion goes to the DKMS.

You really can’t complain about that. Well done, Jennifer!

A Beautiful Day at the Sea

~ Inspiration ~
I have liked Jennifer Aniston since I became addicted to the series "Friends" ;) I received a sample of "J" from dear Cleopatra to test.

~ Bottle ~
The shape is interesting and (so far) unique. It has a wavy bottom and the colors of the glass are turquoise-blue, which reminds me of water and the sea. The name "J" stands for the initial of her name.

~ Scent ~
Upon application, I immediately perceive the marine notes (summer and beach) and orange blossoms, even though these are not listed. Sunny jasmine flowers, water lilies, and magnolias form the floral heart. With vanilla, sandalwood, and musk, it concludes warm and sensual. For me, it is a so-called "sunscreen scent":

~ Longevity ~
Unfortunately, it lasts only about 3-4 hours on my skin (not much longer on clothing and hair). You can comfortably use several sprays without feeling overloaded. However, it may become too synthetic and cloying with over-application.

~ Occasion ~
A lovely vacation scent for the warmer days in spring, summer, and autumn (also pleasant to wear in the office).

~ Conclusion ~
I had imagined it to be much more aquatic based on the presentation, but I am pleasantly surprised that it is not the case :D

surprised twice

I sprayed it on my wrist at Douglas today and was initially pleasantly surprised because around the maritime freshness, fluffy, soft, powdery notes caressed without becoming too sweet. Musk and vanilla are skillfully used here.
The second surprise hit me when the maritime notes or the water lily became more pronounced on my skin, and I suddenly only perceived that typical Davidoff Cool Water Woman twist. It lingered until the evening, and I just can't quite get along with that.
On the paper strip that I also took home, it developed more beautifully; floral-powdery nuances remained, and behind that, I actually sense the sea. I might need to try it again...
