My Glow Jennifer Lopez 2009

There has been quite a bit of grumbling about Jenny's fragrances in general and My Glow in particular. Therefore, I must defend the poor thing here. After all, Jenny and I are quite similar, well, at least when it comes to our behinds. Mine is much bigger, ha!

This fragrance was almost a blind buy, as I had it before, even repurchased it, and then unfortunately didn’t see it in stores anymore. That was a few years ago. Now I saw a leftover single piece at R. for a mere 9.90 euros. I immediately remembered, felt sorry for it, and bought it. I have been looking for a scent for those times when I don’t know what I want to smell like, a true “go-to,” four-seasons-24-hour worry-free fragrance. Voilà! Here it is! Besides, I was annoyed back then that I hadn’t kept the bottle, as I find it really cute!

So off I went home with it and sprayed it on right away. Oops, I didn’t remember it being so lightly herbaceous and fresh. I mean, it was quite sweet with a nice musk note at the end. Well, never mind. I have a bad feeling about this. It doesn’t take long before FLOWERS start to take over! A whole bunch of FLOWERS!! Oh no, come on, not again! By now, everyone knows how I feel about FLOWER SCENTS! But there’s no helping it, I guess I have to endure this. Luckily, your intensity doesn’t linger long in the foreground and dissipates relatively quickly to make way for the note I love so much: unobtrusive, delicate, pure, fresh, and even pleasantly FLOWERY for my battered nose, just right for a doctor’s visit or something, and in the base, the beautiful musk note I loved back then emerges, which, together with the sandalwood and heliotrope, gives it a certain warmth. With fragrances that are more delicate, it can be helpful to spray generously. Then even the neighbor will notice. And I like to think it lasts longer that way. I just experienced this with another scent. At first, I thought it was completely undetectable, but then I doused myself generously in the morning, and by noon, my colleagues noticed it (positively!).

I’m digressing. In any case, I’m happy to have snagged another bottle of My Glow before this fragrance disappears completely into oblivion (I thought it already had). Now I know what I will smell like when I’m unsure of what I want to wear. At least for now. And this time, I will definitely keep the bottle!
