Unfortunately just a slightly bland copy
Jil Sander is currently reviving some lost classics in a special series. I quite like the men's fragrances, even though there have been slight, albeit noticeable, reformulations.
As a connoisseur of the original "Bath and Beauty," I am of course also interested in this fragrance.
In short: This scent does not come anywhere near the original EDT, and it certainly does not match the fragrance of the care line. For me, these are two different stories, so I don't want to go into the differences.
The box, with its pure white design, reminds me of the original, though the pink belly band is modern. The bottle is cylindrical and round with pink liquid, very much in line with the retro fragrances. It's okay, simple and straightforward Jil Sander.
The new fragrance is fresh and fruity from the start, very much in tune with the modern spirit, with a slightly smoky touch. Tasty and pleasant. In the heart notes, jasmine and a fresh rose follow, with jasmine clearly dominating. In the base, it becomes soft and creamy, with vanilla and honey prevailing over patchouli.
I liked the fragrance when viewed independently of the original. Good, pleasant, but also a bit average. It has no kick and no distinctive recognizability for me. I also tried it on my girlfriend - IT does not suit HER, and SHE does not like it either. A classic win-win situation.
Taken on its own, it is a good, solid fragrance, but compared to its big name, it clearly cannot keep up.
