Simply Jil Sander 2014 Eau de Parfum

Here is where opinions diverge, or whoever, I won't diverge!
I've been circling around the Simply EdP and Edt for a long, long time; aside from samples and the small tubes of body lotion, it never came to me. Actually, I already have enough and do I really need another Jil Sander?
The crazy thing is, for Jil Sander fragrances (and Chloé), I get the most comments, mostly positive ones. Usually, nothing is said about the fragrance I'm wearing, which I often find a pity, but when it is said - and then positively, it's usually about these.
So, I finally got to the Eau de Parfum, - I WANTED the Eau de Toilette, after all the comments I felt more inclined towards that, my little sample said so too. - So it ended up being the black-gold Simply, through a swap where we didn't communicate clearly enough ;-).
And now it's mine, and it is simply a really, really great scent on me.
Herb? No, it is not herbaceous on me. It is a bit dark, right from the start, maybe it's the violet leaf.
And in the background, after a few minutes, I sense the mandarin, but not so fresh, rather a warm softness, without being too sweet, maybe more like mandarin peel, that describes it better.
"Iris, musk, nutmeg, cedar" - I can't really name them individually, it's too well composed for that, but I totally believe in this heart note.
I find all of this hardly season-dependent - well, maybe not on a hot summer day, but otherwise... It just envelops me in such a pleasant floral quality that is not dominant, not too floral, and the woods don't immediately remind one of a forest, just a bit of the closeness to a pleasant wood, - cedar and nutmeg? You have to come to that, but: Together they can express that.
And the violet gives the floral aspect, surely the mandarin is still a bit present and the musk adds warmth, but it is strong in the background. I love musk scents, so I'm glad it's there.
And then after a few hours? The vanilla remains well hidden in the background, and for me, it is only the vanilla of the dark black pod, which you know too, not the overly intense vanilla sugar.
Patchouli is in almost all the fragrances I really like, even though I don't quite know how it actually smells.
In any case, in the end, there is something noble, deep, warm, and yes, it will also be the leather. For me, it is not dominant, maybe that will change in autumn and winter. But it is more like this still beautifully old leather jacket that never became musty, but is no longer new, the classic one you can't part with.
Everything is now close to the body, after about 6 hours, and I'm a bit tempted to spray again. Just be careful, not too much, .. that happened to me and I thought I should have left it. Next time more caution or just use the body lotion.
So I found a fragrance that could easily become my signature scent. My husband likes it very much, by the way, and I'm curious about any outside comments soon.
It hasn't been long in my collection, but it will surely stay, and I owe that to the lovely "Supi" who almost accidentally gave it to me.
So I advocate for this beautiful scent - it is certainly not for young women, but that depends on the type. Anyone who considers themselves older can't go wrong ;-) - whenever that is - from 40, 50 .. 70? If it fits, then it can be a wonderful scent - pleasing but not boring, with many little facets, equally wearable with jeans as well as stylish or even elegant. I mean, it just adapts!

A very nice leather perfume scent. And that's my problem, I don't like leather scents on myself. But otherwise... Trophy+

A very intriguing comment about a fragrance I've never smelled. After your lovely comment, that will definitely change.

I remember you! Chloe Love, that's all I'll say =D - If you praise the Simply, I might give it a try someday too. But in any case, a trophy for your enthusiastic comment ;)

I only know the Elixier, but they say they are quite similar. It's a very beautiful, delicate, and subtle scent, despite its notes. This lack of overpowering intensity makes it special.

I enjoyed swapping with you - the company really should have a better handle on the naming though :-) and yes, I like the scent a lot too!
