Sun Day Men Jil Sander 2013
1
Summer in a bottle!
It's quite interesting that I'm writing a comment about a summery perfume in late autumn, but perhaps it's the longing for sunshine, freshly mown grass, and birdsong that I particularly feel when the days become cooler and shorter.
Even though autumn and winter are sensual, cozy seasons, I always look forward to the first green buds and the spring scents that awaken me from my winter slumber.
It was also the summer of 2013 that made me notice Jil Sander Day Sun. I always found the classic Sun to be a pleasantly unobtrusive summer fragrance, but I could never embrace it because it felt too ordinary and everyone wears it in the summer.
Sun Day was more appealing to me at first sniff, and I immediately associated the scent with the sea and sunscreen. Sun Day has a slightly sharp opening and a green note that blends with fresh synthetic elements. I am overwhelmed by the intense cold foamy seawater, which persists throughout its duration. Sun Day is not a true aqua, as the benzoin resonates too strongly with me, and it also lasts quite a while on my skin. The sillage is noticeably good in the first 30 minutes.
It evokes vacation memories of a beach bar somewhere on a deserted beach where I met friends for cocktails. I spray a few bursts of Sun Day on my wet, tanned body, and we sit together sociably, dancing with Sun Day to salsa until the night.
Conclusion: A feel-good perfume and freshness kick for any beach holiday!
