Blueberry Muffin...

It's been a while since I added Parlez-moi d'Amour to my collection. The bottle appealed to me so much back then that I had to try it! I still remember my first impressions clearly, and I need to elaborate a bit...

In the late 80s, Klein-Imperia received dolls from her uncle in the USA. They had such lovely names like Strawberry Shortcake, Apple Dumplin, Purple Pieman, Sour Grapes, and they smelled just like that. I was particularly taken with the Purple Pieman, which smelled of plums and cinnamon, really delicious. The dolls were styled like Barbies, just much cuter :-) and I don't even know if they were available in Europe. But now back to the main point...

When I first sprayed the fragrance, I immediately thought of one of those dolls, which was called Blueberry Muffin, had bright blue hair and white/green striped socks, and of course smelled of blueberries. Sure, the scent it emitted came across as somewhat synthetic, but that didn't bother me. Parlez-moi d'Amour felt the same way to me, but I still liked it right away; it was something different for me, something fruity, nice for spring and summer.

Well, that was back then... Today I caught it in the "morning roulette" (when I sometimes have no idea what to wear, I play that in the morning: I stand in front of the perfume cabinet, close my eyes, and let myself be surprised :-) The first spray: Ufff... exhausting, piercing, overpowering, I thought it had gone off... But after 10 minutes, the relief: No, it smells just like it should, pure blueberry... and for me, the blueberry remains from start to finish, uncompromising, intense, pushing away everything that gets in its way. Only the rose, hand in hand with the lavender, are allowed to peek out and say hello after about half an hour, still embraced by the imperial blueberry... and it lasts and lasts and lasts... for me, up to 6 hours.

Somehow, I still like it, but somehow I don't... I've sort of gotten used to the blueberry scent. I still have the doll, of course it doesn't smell anymore. I could of course use the fragrance to re-enact Blueberry Muffin :-)

Heidelbeeren in Düften habe ich noch nie gerochen, klingt irgendwie interessant (wenn auch eindeutig nicht mein Beuteschema).
