My heart dances. And not just for Mia, but also on days like these. I was recently blessed with a treasure from my circle of friends. The rescued bottle is a bit dusty and the remaining content is modest, but that doesn't diminish my joy. The juice is still in top condition, and so I can celebrate this best of all Joops properly today!
Back then, it wasn't really love at first sight. In the late 90s, I owned it and wore it now and then. I only truly learned to appreciate it over time. By then, it was almost too late. Nights spent dancing, wild parties, Adam was there for it all. And then it was discontinued. In a time long before Parfumo, without warning, so one could perhaps stock up like a hamster. Just gone overnight.
I can't understand why. I still find it very attractive by today's standards. The slightly fruity opening with citrus is sweet-fresh and absolutely contemporary. The floral-woody heart and the spicy-soft dry down are just as appealing. And hovering over the entire progression is this ethereal green tomato leaf, which both rounds off the scent and makes it unique. That's how you do unique, dear friends. This is love in times of so-so!
Even though the competition back then, e.g., from Davidoff, Sander, but also from the same house, was certainly a bit louder, the performance by today's standards is excellent. Although I didn't apply it generously today, I was approached about it twice in the office - that doesn't happen too often. So it seems I'm not alone in my positive perception.
Therefore, I can only repeat the call from my statement: Come back, Adam. Everything is forgiven and forgotten! Until then, I will enjoy my remaining bottle, which I hope will make my heart dance many more times.
At the time of its release, I was generally at odds with Joop fragrances. I only came to appreciate Adam much later. By the way, there's a really good dupe available from the usual suspects.
