This fragrance belongs to the clean scents and has subtle similarities to Prada l'homme; unlike Prada l'homme, this scent does not remind me of a high-quality soap but rather of a fruity/fresh men's shower gel.
What stands out to me is the plum, probably not least because I absolutely love this note. The orange blossom, which is not as prominent, slightly reminds me of the orange note that also resonates in Joop Homme, even though these two fragrances have no other similarities.
The components that would be classified as aromatic and spicy (tobacco, cardamom, sandalwood) remain very much in the background in this fragrance, and in the case of cardamom, it supports the projecting freshness. The blend of clean freshness and subtle spice makes the scent feel synthetic, but not in a cheap way.
Personally, I see this fragrance as an alternative to Prada l'homme if you are a bit younger or looking for a summery alternative, and I can recommend it without hesitation in those cases.
@ Rathaloose: The word ideology is completely out of place here! I just expressed my opinion; I didn't say that YOUR opinion is WRONG or anything like that. So, a discussion in the context of an ideology topic is misplaced. I fully accept your opinion, but the opinions of users who claim that you’re comparing apples to oranges must also be respected.
There isn't a "right" way to experience a fragrance; neither l'homme has soap nor Ice has shower gel pressed into it. We associate the scent notes SUBJECTIVELY with things we know. I don't understand why there's such a fuss over the term SUBTLE similarity, especially since others have already mentioned they recognize it. It seems more like a discussion about the ideology of how one is allowed to evaluate a fragrance and how one isn't.
@Schallhoerer I haven't tested Creed Aventus and Coolwater, but I'll still respond to your comparison. Freshness can vary just like sweet, powdery, or spicy notes, both in how they're made and how they're perceived. For example, with Sauvage, it's a sharp, very loud freshness, which is often the case with "blue" fragrances. However, with l'homme and Ice, it's a clean, very rounded freshness that, as mentioned, reminds me of soaps or shower gels.
But if we compare "freshness" with "freshness," Joop! Homme Ice also has similarities to Cool Water, Aventus, and Fierce. And the comparisons just don't fit at all, just like the reference to Prada's L'Homme.
@Intenso, you’re welcome to have that opinion, but mine is different and I’ve explained it in detail. Also, I mentioned **subtle** similarities regarding the freshness. If you think that a soapy, fresh scent and a shower gel-like, fresh scent have absolutely nothing in common, then that’s how it is. I have Prada L'Homme at home and have worn Joop! Homme Ice 3-4 times for testing, which is how I formed my opinion.
@Bibogat I did mention that they aren't the same scents and I also listed the differences. Yes, l'homme feels more high-end, but when it comes to the pure and fresh vibe, they are definitely similar. Regarding the sweetness, we might just have different tolerance levels; for me, the sweetness comes more from the fruitiness, which is why I don't find it very sweet, let alone too sweet.
By all means… but those are two completely different scents! Prada L'Homme is much less sweet (HubbaBubba gum!) and way more sophisticated! I don't see any similarity at all.
