In my recent comments, I have been engaged in describing perfumes in general. Art does not come from skill, but is created when the unspeakable finds its way to the mind. I also believe that reciting 'notes' in perfumes is quite similar to attempting to explain a work of art. If so, then it was not meant to be with the art. Another example is the joke, which also cannot be explained without it simply being over in the end. And it all seems quite pedantic, but foolish.
This should not be the case in the last comment. So what do I smell in Jovan Musk For Men (plural, many or all men?)? Brilliant, synthetically finely drawn fruit. And musk of the lighter kind, fortunately also synthetic for the animals. There is a very subtle undertone of rancid melancholy, but it does not spoil the optimistically maintained impression. What is certainly missing is the thickening, the equivalent to gelatin from more modern aroma chemicals, proprietary fixatives for top/middle/base, harmonizers, blenders, and what not? The aura is beautiful, but does not project as baked as today's super niche products. Luxury lies here in a signaling restraint: "- but I don't need that -". For connoisseurs.
