"Big Sur (2017)" begins with a tumultuous burst of wild sage, bright, fresh and herbaceous, which blends with the lemony ethereal aromas of cypress resins, before more and more herb-spicy notes like brown needles on dry forest floor, lichens and bark of the Monterey pine come into play. Fluxit already mentioned it in his excellent review of the original version of Big Sur, sometimes a bit more forest floor and bark indeed makes it into the distillation, depending on where and when they gathered the wild ingredients. The moderate mantra resonates an astonishing seven hours.
