I got this scent through the discovery sampler kit my boyfriend got me. It was one that I had spotted while I began my journey. Since I knew I loved white flowers (the J'adore Parfum d'Eau is one of my favorite scent ever since I began my perfume journey), I was sure I was going to love this one.
For the first few minutes, I was pleasantly surprised. The nectarine and pear welcomed me with their sweet tangy juicy notes which gave me a vibrant vibe. Unfortunately, it was almost immediately swept away by the numerous white flowers. I can't pick apart all the different white florals yet since I'm just getting started on this journey, but everything became an overpowering indolic smell. It was a bit overwhelming and the white flowers became a bit screechy. It's hard to describe: I'd get nice soft wafts of it coming from my skin while I was moving about, but when I pulled it close to my nose, it became too overpowering. Then the rollercoaster ride began. I had written this scent off, thinking it was another (unfortunate) flop when the base notes came through, slightly shy at first, but asserting their presence more as time passed. I love vanilla, sandalwood and cashmere wood so I felt immediately at home. I was wary at the patchouli at first, but it played nice this time, giving it a nice animalic vibe that made all the sweet and indolic notes tone down. It became a slightly sweet, animalic smell that hugged my skin quite nicely, making me feel clean.
I'm going to test it out further, but I don't think this one is for me. The rollercoaster ride was a lot and I didn't like the middle notes. I'd prefer loving a perfume completely instead of only liking parts of it. Right now, it's nice, but nothing spectacular so I don't think I'll be adding it to my collection. I might try to layer it with other Kayali fragrance and see if it comes out better. I can say that it's unfortunately not a perfume for everybody.
