Silky Powder

In the past, it was almost a given that the body care lines of major perfumes also included body powders. Not only do I long for that time, but some customers would still reach for such a luxury item today. Wrapping oneself in a delicate silky cloud after a bath is simply dreamy. No body lotion can provide that sensual feeling.

Iris Pourpre reminds me exactly of this situation. Powdery, yes, but the fine iris note that I love so much reminds me more of Infusion by Prada than of Hiris. The "vegetal" note of the Hermes fragrance is completely absent here, giving the perfume a completely different character. Thank goodness, this dusty note found in other powder fragrances, which reminds one of theater dressing rooms, is also entirely missing. No, Iris Pourpre is exceptionally clean and silky. A hint of Ylang adds a floral elegance as a finishing touch, and thus the fragrance has a pronounced aura of well-being for me.

To return to the comparison with other iris fragrances: Infusion is significantly more glamorous and louder, Hiris is much stronger, greener, and fuller. In my opinion, Iris Pourpre is the most subtle and intimate scent of the three.

That catches my attention as an iris lover! Powdery-silky-elegant... That sounds really nice. I also like Hiris, but it does have quite a carrot note. And with Infusion d'Iris, I sometimes pick up a hint of synthetic artifice, even though I enjoy wearing that perfume too.

*Wow* ..to me, the iris here feels more floral-fruity than rooty-powdery.
No, it’s definitely not dusty.

As always: super helpful! Thanx! (Seriously... don't the Orange ones want to make you the professional expert for nationwide training of employees by now?)
