dark red velvety Lady - Oud
Amber - this sensual ingredient, which is one of my favorite components in autumn/winter fragrances - is also part of Al Mazyoona.
This encouraged me to test this fragrance despite Oud being in the pyramid. In combination with deep, dark, oriental, or spicy notes, Amber is simply an indispensable olfactory experience for me and constantly tempts me to try all fragrances that contain Amber/Ambra/Ambre gris/Ambroxan (and whatever else they are called).
Oud, on the other hand, is often too much for me. Although I have come to find some fragrances that contain a good amount of Oud really wonderful. It's always this back and forth; can't there just be a clear yes or no?
Well, anyway, Al Mazyoona has the softest Oud I have ever smelled. It comes across as entirely feminine and soft. Practically a dark red velvety Lady-Oud.
Yes, it is a bit animalistic, smoky, and woody, but nowhere near as intense as in other fragrances. I actually quite like that here.
The scent has a velvety-warm aura, soft, cozy, soothing, and sweet. Yes, Al Mazyoona is sweet; vanilla and caramel (by the way, not annoying here at all) contribute to that, BUT due to Oud, Amber, cedarwood, and sandalwood, this sweetness appears rather muted, and the fragrance is not so overpowering.
Al Mazyoona has certain parallels to "Raghba | Lattafa / لطافة" but is silkier, less smoky, and somewhat more pleasing (if that can even be said about Amber-Oud combos).
By the way, I don't smell any leather; I think some people have gotten a false impression of the scent here. The fragrance does not contain leather and does not smell like it either.
In the base, I still smell Amber, Oud, and vanilla, which is dark here and not sticky but well perceivable.
An affordable oriental with really good longevity and a decent sillage that is not overpowering.
If you like Amber, vanilla, and Oud, you should definitely test this one! Bargain :-)

I really like this scent, especially because it's not too heavy yet still rich and expressive.
