Magic is a Chaste Rose-Oud Combination

"Sometime am I all oud with roses, who, with thorny tongues, do prick me into boredom." (stanza, freely adapted from Shakespeare)

Tempest is said to be inspired by The Tempest (premiered in 1611) by William Shakespeare, claims the official website. Specifically inspired by the magic and alchemy in The Tempest.

The main character is Oud, the deposed Duke of Milan, who lives on some island with his daughter Rose.
To prevent Rose from becoming an old maid, he persuades Cedar to cause a shipwreck.
So that the stranded Prince Patchouli and Rose do not become active before marriage, he convinces Cedar to host a "Masque." This is a Renaissance party with music, singing, and acting. The masque is both Rose's and Patchouli's engagement celebration and is meant to show the lovers the value of chastity (!)

(Chastity is also better when wearing Tempest.)

Oud tries to solve his problems with magic (Cedar). But then realizes that blackmail works better with some people. I find that a nice lesson. If magic is a rose-oud combination, then I would prefer something else. I would even take the blackmail, maybe it's green or citrusy.

Tempest is significantly more durable than a performance of The Tempest, but its sillage does not fill an entire theater. Contrary to my statement in my review, I find Tempest quite animalistic. How much or how little animalistic I find it probably depends on my mood.

You can wear Tempest at work if you are a poet, as well as in the evening or when going out if you are drunk. In a theater, you might run into problems. Family tester Q once ate garlic before going to the theater, and that did not go over well. Tempest does not smell like garlic, but on some days it smells like goat. In The Tempest, there is a character named Caliban, who is half monster, half human. A kind of pest, just not so nice. I think Tempest would suit him well.

I think it smells quite pleasant, even with the goat note. Definitely no reason to stay chaste. I love the twists and leaps in thought that your comments always take.

Very nice to read again. Lots of wit and lightness :-) The scent is definitely "not my cup of tea," but your writing style is impressive!

Your comment just brought me more joy than an excerpt from Shakespeare. That says something ;)

Magic and blackmail at the same time, now that would be something. Is there misfortune (cedar to the head) if you don't keep your hands to yourself before the wedding? As always, great educational television.

One of your best, respect! Witty trophy. And why Shakespeare? He didn't even exist!

I laughed several times. I like the wearing option when it's intense, and I enjoy the garlic goat (Ritter Sport Garlic Goat Nut), but what I like best is "Möter," it reminds me of the sci-fi comedy "Spaceballs": "I am a Möter, half human, half dog." *lol*

Helpful comparison, and I couldn't come up with more points either.

I'm out when it comes to the scent, but I really enjoyed visiting your theater again. Of course, without garlic and too much oud :)))

I doubt I want to smell like a goat on some days. I can complain just fine without that. But you've really outdone yourself this time! Right on the mark, so to speak. Great performance, thank you!

Oh my gosh, I almost wet my pants :-DDD You are simply irreplaceable! Delicious storytelling along with once again excellent wearing recommendations. But I don't want to be forced into that scent. I'll stay chaste...
