Today, Kenzo Jungle joined my vintage collection.
I was curious about this polarizing fragrance, where, as with all (today) lesser-known scents, there are often two camps.. The lovers and those who do not like such strong fragrances..
Well.. personally, I am drawn to scents that are not liked, simply to form my own opinion about them..
I am also a proud team player of the powerful fragrances, those that can blow houses away with their sillage.
Now to Kenzo..
I had been circling around this fragrance since summer.. should I? Shouldn't I?
Well, I gave in to my inner self.. and I do not regret it..
The scent is sooo unique.. my heart skips a beat.. something special, uniquely different, not something you smell on every corner..
I immediately smell something cinnamon-like, the clove combined with cardamom gives it that drive..
At the same time, there is something fruity (the mango with the mandarin) that adds a bit of sweetness, but not cloyingly sweet.. Wonderful..
The sunny aspect of the Jungle comes from vanilla and ylang-ylang.. beautifully intertwined and underscored by heliotrope and vanilla..
For me, Jungle as a vintage wearer is a time travel back to my young adult years, the 90s say hello so beautifully.. And I believe I remember this scent being quite common back then, as I know it from my subconscious.. this makes my personal discovery today all the more beautiful..
Now, let’s talk about the sillage..
Here, I got exactly what I love about fragrances.. blowing houses away.. and that with just 2 sprays ️..
And it delivers what it promises..
I have many beasts, but Jungle is a sillage monster, it ranks in a league with, for example, Arabian Tonka, so everything is done right..
Conclusion
Kenzo Jungle was a candidate that made me hesitate, my decision to buy it took a long time.. The hesitation is over, Kenzo is here and will be loved for its uniqueness and adored for its monstrous quality..
Personally, I see Jungle more as a summer candidate (of course in homeopathic doses) as I believe it will truly unfold its splendor through its fruity components, though I will also wear it now in winter and then compare it in summer..
The scent is - carefully dabbed on - really great in the summer (it once got me up a steep hill on my bike), and cozy in the winter (thanks to the spices that definitely fit the Christmas season). I wear it rarely, but when I do, I really enjoy it.
Thanks for your review - I really relate to it --- I've been circling around this scent for ages... and I think it’s time, or it has to, come to me soon....
Thanks for your reply ☺️.. go for it if you're looking for scents that are different from the usual stuff 👍 I haven't regretted it.. just be brave.. and your wallet won't suffer too much with this choice either 👌
