The World Belongs to Us

Even though I wouldn't wear this fragrance today, as my olfactory understanding has simply evolved in a different direction, I still have memories connected to Kenzo pour homme. For me, it is undeniably part of the 90s. This scent was different from anything known before. It simply meant vacation, sun, sea, and beach. Party. I found it just delicious. Sooo pleasant and pure sea. For whatever reason. I loved this fragrance and enjoyed the summer with it. Every time a trip to the sea was coming up, I would get this fragrance beforehand. The scent was for me the epitome of aquatic freshness. Paired with something mysterious. Attractive. Kenzo is young, active. It implies athletic bodies, tanned skin.....yes, a lot of bare skin. Not sultry and dirty erotic, but clean and bright and at the beach during the day. In any case, there was always vacation and carefreeness in my thoughts when I smelled this perfume. Laughter. Yes, somehow it fit back then. I was young and often enough out partying. I didn't think too much about fragrances. I didn't have such high expectations or need stories, backgrounds, or philosophies. It smelled sexy and good. That was enough. Period. Today it wouldn't work anymore. Although I still perceive Kenzo as pleasant smelling. In the hope of not offending anyone, I no longer see this fragrance as a perfume today. Not in my conception of it. It is more a temporary feeling of life. A faded memory that is beautiful but insignificant.
We were young and carefree. Just like Kenzo pour homme....

I still like it and would appreciate it on a man, but obviously no one wears it anymore. I smelled it again in a perfume shop after a long time and thought it somehow lost its strength-new formula?

There will come a time when you'll give faded memories meaning again. It's nice to have experienced them and wonderful to be able to bring them back to life with scents.

I also loved it on my partner in the 90s and associate many beautiful memories with the scent.
