Beautiful statement... I perceive it that way too.

Your statement above... I only read your edit afterwards... I'm curious if my bottle is different from the tester.

Thank you so much for your feedback! :)
But I still have to ask:
How do you perceive it? Like my original post, where you can tell that I was impressed by this scent on the first test and found it exciting and rather high-quality?
Or the edit (as a comment ;) when I felt like I didn't have the original experience at all?

Well... what I have now has nothing in common with what I tested/used before. The scent is unrecognizable.
That sharp synthetic wood base, which has been mixed into far too many newer releases or batches, probably to maximize profit, makes the fragrance undeliverable from the first spray.
This isn't the first time the tester seems enticingly well-made, only to end up feeling cheated.
Do manufacturers really believe that most consumers won't notice or that it won't lead to a "reaction" in terms of lower sales? Eventually, this trick will be played out. Here’s hoping for a quick turnaround. Otherwise, I really don't want to keep torturing my nose with this.
I want quality; otherwise, it's worthless.
