..blue night shadow on the run..I already had the great 80s song (those older might remember, Two of us) stuck in my head as an earworm loop..because I thought they were singing "Moonlight shadows...." ...but whether it's Moonlight or Blue night..both titles don't really fit the scent. It's a shame that Tom Ford already snatched the more fitting title for his new white beauty.
I generally don't believe in brand bashing (like with the Creed opponents), as too often and too quickly a scent disappointment leads to conclusions about the rest, but with Kilian, nothing has really clicked for me yet, except for the very nice Sacred Wood, nothing has truly convinced me. Here, people quickly talk about an overpriced and overrated brand..I tend to lose track with all the new releases.
All the more surprised I am by Blue...uhhh Moonlight in Heaven. Ms. Becker has created a very beautiful, timeless women's fragrance. In the first 5 minutes, we have a totally delicious citrus note like Splash in lemon..creamy-mild..which, in my opinion, is replaced far too quickly by flowers of all kinds. Extremely intense like a lush bouquet in white and violet, sultry-entrancing, slightly waxy..but very very fine..and no tuberose alarm! Behind the bouquet, there are 2 things that I really like: on one hand, this wonderful creaminess and on the other, the great aroma of mango. This totally authentically achieved fruitiness can really excite me, I would have actually wished for this in Timbuktu, just without the flowers;-)!
The longer the scent is on the skin, the more it resembles a luxury body lotion, also due to the tonka influence, and I see clear parallels to the also very delicious Soleil Blanc, but with Tom Ford, tonka is more prominent. I can't detect anything more in both scents, and I can't discover any new development either.
Both are very beautiful women's fragrances, with Soleil Blanc having a slight edge for me. Since I'm not an expert on women's fragrances, I can't judge whether there are such creamy floral scents available for less money and what the reference scents are called, I quite like both, but I like them significantly better on a woman. The unisex term can really be overused!
The longevity is quite okay at 5-6 hours, the sillage, especially in the first hour, is very strong, more would be too much here. Definitely a successful scent with a slight sunscreen touch! For men, it's very daring..or let's just say it directly..it doesn't work for men at all...period;-)))!
P.S. Oh right, since I don't know this or many other sunscreen scents, I can only guess if it might be similar to "Sensuous Nude" (but not a dupe, as it has fewer flowers and no mango). It has a slight coconut note and is creamy-sweet without being sticky.
Too many floral notes usually give me headaches, and I'm not that excited about sunscreen or cream scents either, so I don't feel the need to test this new Kilian. But kudos for the great comment! :)
