When the name "Krizia" comes up, most of us probably think of more or less opulent hits like "Teatro alla Scala," "Krazy Krizia," "K de Krizia," or even "Moods."
Beautiful, eye-catching, and sometimes dramatic creations, analogous to the fashion of the house, which is not exactly known for restraint and understatement.
Wonderful for special occasions, grand appearances, and flamboyant personalities - but perhaps a bit less suitable for the everyday life of an average person.
But Krizia can also be different.
With "Easy Krizia," a fragrance was launched 13 years ago that follows a completely different concept.
A bitter, tangy freshness with an immediate wake-up effect combines with well-balanced woody and spicy notes, grounded by a barely perceptible hint of patchouli.
The blackcurrant is the be-all and end-all of this creation, though I am quite sure that there is a grapefruit hiding somewhere, supporting the berry and contributing that slightly bitter acidity that maintains the fragrance's exceptionally refreshing character well into the base.
Moss can be sensed after a while and evokes hints of a chypre, without significantly influencing the actual scent direction.
I cannot quite follow the classification as a women's fragrance once again, as it is precisely the bitter-spicy aspects of "Easy Krizia" that make this scent a wonderful companion for men.
In terms of longevity and sillage, however, Krizia could have been a bit more generous - "Easy Krizia" stays rather close to the body and unfortunately does not last longer for me than a good Eau de Cologne.
Addendum on March 11, 2016: I must correct my statements about longevity - after spraying "Easy Krizia" yesterday afternoon, the scent is still very noticeable in my hair.
I can no longer confirm the body closeness either; the fragrance does indeed make itself known.
Whether the more intense perception is related to a refinement of my nose or if the fragrance, originating from the year of release, has gained intensity in my bottle over the years, unfortunately cannot be determined.
I have a bottle from 1999, lovely fairy - maybe it's the bad skin chemistry, but unfortunately it doesn't last very well on me. But that doesn't take away from its charm at all!
