For Lovers of Woody Scents
In my search for woody fragrances, Krizia Uomo has now also become a test candidate. It has found its place in the lineup of perfumes I like alongside Polo, Waidmanns Heil, and One Man Show. Jacome de Jacomo has a fantastic smoky oak moss note, but otherwise bears little resemblance to the aforementioned.
More candidates will follow, but first, here is my assessment of Krizia Uomo:
After spraying, the wearer is greeted with a beautiful woody freshness that wonderfully sweetly smells of licorice or caraway.
Later, a slightly smoky-herbaceous note emerges. The scent becomes greener and somewhat earthy. On my skin, I could detect a very light oak moss note. The heart note reminded me distinctly of incense and tobacco, even though these should not be present.
Compared to One Man Show, this fragrance is heavier, darker, and stronger, but otherwise quite similar, although the drydown of OMS is more airy-scented.
The perfume can, like many vintage scents, of course, be worn all year round.
Today, I even thought I caught a whiff of the Phalaenopsis World scent when I entered the room where I sprayed the fragrance.
The bottle appears somewhat cheap; the price difference to One Man Show is not justified for me. Those who want to choose between the two and value the price/performance ratio could also be satisfied with OMS.
