Ephemeral Butterfly that Quickly Vanishes

Okay, I must first say that I do not know the "regular" version of this fragrance, so not the Extrême version, and therefore I cannot compare these two scents.

From the name, "The Hunt for Butterflies," the fragrance sounds quite nice. It evokes spring, colorful gardens and meadows, floral notes (and hopefully not too cloying flowers...)… and yes, also colorful, cute butterflies :D

So let's see how this fragrance smells :)

The scent:
At first, I mainly smell linden blossoms and saffron, giving the fragrance a green and slightly herbal appearance. The citrus notes are mild and more in the background. Occasionally, a slightly spicy yet sweet pepper note appears.
For the other sweet floral notes, I guess tuberose and jasmine.
Later, you can smell the beeswax, although it is very faint. However, you still perceive green linden and floral notes.
In the base, vetiver appears a bit later, becoming stronger and turning into the main note in the base. Nevertheless, the fragrance retains its green-floral character and smells great. The sweet notes also become stronger as a bit of vanilla joins in. I think this is quite a successful L’Artisan fragrance.

The sillage and longevity:
Okay folks, if the Extrême variant is already so weak in projection, then I don’t even want to know how weak the regular version is. Because the scent is already faint upon spraying, and you have to get very close to the skin to smell it. After not even two hours, the fragrance becomes quite close to the body.
The longevity is still okay, as it can last four to five hours, but as mentioned above, the scent is hardly detectable after two to three hours and should therefore be reapplied often.

The bottle:
The bottle is beautiful as always. Seven-sided with a thick glass bottom and a clear fragrance liquid. On the front, there is a narrow pink label with the name of the fragrance, and you can also see a drawing of a butterfly. The cap is gold-plated and also seven-sided, matching the bottle.

La Chasse aux Papillons is a truly beautiful fragrance. Before the sweet notes kick in, it briefly reminds me of Tilleul by d’Orsay due to the linden, which is also a lovely scent.

The fragrance fits perfectly into spring and summer and can be used well as a daytime scent as well as during leisure time. Unfortunately, for everything else, it is much too weak, which I believe is the main criticism of this fragrance. Moreover, it is an Extrême version, which should either project stronger or at least last longer. Unfortunately, neither is the case, and as I mentioned regarding the sillage above, I can hardly imagine how short-lived the regular scent is.

However, it is still worth a test, as it really smells very nice, and you can certainly find the points I mentioned in the introduction regarding what one might imagine with the term "Hunt for Butterflies," and the fragrance smells beautifully green like gardens and meadows and has a lovely sweet note.

* sigh *
What did I say earlier about butterflies? That they are beautiful and cute! But apparently, they are also irresistible treats… for my cat, who anyway prefers to devour everything insect-like (and always, but always, leaves the legs behind…). Butterflies are no exception :(

I'm curious... is it as nice as the not-so-extreme one? Saffron puts me off.

A friend's cat always caught these giant house spiders on the balcony, brought them in its mouth (alive!) and then let them go! THAT is really gross! I'd rather have butterfly legs... Great scent description!
