L'Occitane en Provence 2001 Eau de Toilette

I have read so much exciting information about the amber scent from L’Occitane here that it immediately made its way onto my wish list. It is said to be hard to find now, so I set out to search for it, knowing that a large drugstore in Hamburg has a L’Occitane shop. Since I had some business nearby, I kept an eye out for it. And lo and behold: there was exactly one available bottle smiling at me, and to my great joy, it even came with a balloon spray! And then for only 25 euros! I had remembered the bottle differently, but that didn’t matter. Completely happy, I carried it home and unfortunately only put on my glasses there. And what did I have to read? It was a ROOM FRAGRANCE!! How mean!! I didn’t want a room fragrance. I was incredibly annoyed with myself that my greed had driven me to snatch up that one remaining bottle without looking closely. The price should have raised my suspicions. Those who can read are clearly at an advantage. What does this teach us? Glasses and eyes open when buying perfume!

However, thanks to a dear perfumer, I have now had the pleasure of trying a sample of this little water and was able to let it work on me in peace. As I look outside at how the leaves change color every day, how they swirl through the air, there is hardly a scent that fits this season better than Ambre L’Occitane. It is golden, spicy, and soft. Despite its softness, it is also powerful and radiates great warmth. Its sweetness is perfectly balanced: not too much and not too little. And its longevity leaves nothing to be desired; it stays with you for many hours. A clear autumn day, a walk through rustling leaves, and Ambre L’Occitane - it couldn’t be more perfect. I think it suits a man just as well.

By the way, the room fragrance smelled almost exactly like the perfume. But 25 euros for a room fragrance was too much for me, plus I was stubborn. Fortunately, I was able to return it without any issues. I have not yet encountered the “real” Ambre.

Yes, and here it is: MY PERFECT AMBER SCENT!

A few weeks ago, I purchased an almost full bottle of it and was curious if I would still feel the same way about it as I did back then. The answer is: YES! In every respect! This scent fulfills everything I had wished for: It is warm, spicy, sweet, but not too much, it doesn’t overwhelm, it warms and caresses me, it is drinkable, vanillic, and melting, and it lasts very well! Therefore, the rating is now quickly going up to 100!

I could scream, cry, and tear my hair out that they discontinued this beautiful scent. Alone, it won’t help. So, I’ve organized another full bunker bottle. That should last me a while, and I will enjoy every single drop!
