During an extensive fragrance tasting of LPDO scents, I was positively impressed by "Bois Intense | LPDO."
Bois Intense is for me a calm, pleasant companion, nothing loud, nothing intrusive. The fragrance unfolds quite linearly, but that doesn't bother me at all here. It starts with a clear, green iris (from juniper berries and cypress), which then quickly transitions into a vanillic, powdery iris. From start to finish, this creamy-vanillic iris remains the focal point, beautifully rounded and soft. The myrrh gently resonates in the background, giving the fragrance a slightly warm, resinous depth. In the base, bright woody notes (more like sawdust) join in, along with a very subtle honey note.
Overall, Bois Intense is a discreet, unexcited iris fragrance that can be wonderfully worn in everyday life. The fragrance is unisex with a slight tendency towards the feminine side due to its vanillic powderiness. All the scents have a high fragrance oil content, which ensures solid longevity. However, the sillage of this fragrance is rather intimate. Since I don't have any iris fragrance in my collection yet, this one is definitely a candidate for acquisition at this price!
