Thanks to dear Karense, I got a sample of this little gem that was completely unknown to me before. Thank you so much for that :)
Without knowing the manufacturer or the fragrance pyramid, I boldly sprayed a bit directly on my arm. I really like vanilla & the name sounded promising - so why not. The perfume looked quite oily on my skin, which struck me as high quality. So I was already positively surprised.
Right after the first sniff, I was completely enchanted: I smell fresh gingerbread dough (OMG!! *_*) with all the accompanying spices and a juicy portion of clove, which is very strong at first but becomes a bit tamer later on. After a while, tonka bean, cocoa, vanilla, and even the tobacco notes become clearly noticeable. In the end, the spicy-sweet gingerbread dough remains with woody notes and the tobacco. I like the scent and I actually perceive it as unisex - I think a man can smell like this too. It immediately evokes memories of baking gingerbread and other Christmas cookies with my mom as a child. I nibble on the dough, the whole house smells wonderful, and the world is in order. However, I can understand why this perfume might be too intense for some. You really have to like spices & especially clove; otherwise, Vanilla Persuasive is not recommended.
On my skin, this gourmand-sweet scent with a tobacco touch lasts a solid 8 hours. To be honest, I didn't expect that for this price range. I own significantly more expensive treasures in my collection that show less good performance. So LPDO proves to me that even inexpensive perfumes can be of high quality. With just one spray, the sillage is pleasant, but I can imagine that it could quickly become overwhelming if over-applied.
Even now in April, I am looking forward to the pre-Christmas season again thanks to Vanilla Persuasive. If the scent convinces me at such mild temperatures as currently, I can already imagine how it will sweeten a cold winter day for me and warmly envelop me with its spicy-sweet veil. I am looking forward to it :)
That sounds tempting, but it might be a bit too spicy for me with the clove and tobacco. Maybe around Christmas time. I also baked and decorated gingerbread with my mom as a kid. It was fun.
I'm absolutely delighted by how contagious my own enthusiasm for the scent is! A very accurate review, dear Lenilein! I feel exactly the same way. I've pressed the trophy button too many times, and now it doesn't work anymore... so just imagine it! Trophy for the gingerbread-vanilla!!!
