justifiably ignored
Elsewhere, the notes for this are listed as pear and green notes, ylang-ylang, sunflower, and sandalwood.

This starts off with a note like melted candle wax and some potpourri. The waxy note is soon gone, and it just smells like an inexpensive potpourri or potpourri room spray. There's little sillage, and it's entirely gone in 4 hours. That's OK. I didn't want to smell it any more anyway. I've tried all three of this brand (Fils de Soie and Immortelle were the others) and am not surprised that they all garnered little attention.

A brief moment...
Hélianthe means sunflower.
Sunflower *thinking* - it doesn't really smell like much, does it?
Does it smell like sun? No, a bit nutty, sweetish.
Well, then I’ll take care of the other fragrance notes.
Pear - WHERE on earth has that been hidden? My synapses unfortunately do not smell even the tiniest bit of pear.
Green notes - oh yes, Hélianthe is green, but more of a dull green, like dried, warm grass.
Exotic flowers - well, I would include Ylang-Ylang here.

Ylang-Ylang is often used in the production of perfumes (for example, Chanel Nº 5), perfumed soaps, and in aromatherapy. In many countries, it is considered a healing oil. However, high concentrations or prolonged use can lead to headaches and nausea. HOWEVER!

In Hélianthe, Ylang-Ylang is a key criterion and just as "dangerous" as hyacinth in some other fragrances. Too much and it knocks you out. Unfortunately, one gets the feeling of wanting to wash off the scent, but these intensely floral-sweet fragrances cling like tar.

It unfortunately doesn’t help that sandalwood mixes in. On the contrary, it only "complicates" things further.
I absolutely cannot imagine this scent on a MAN.
It really is just a brief moment (in my opinion) in which this fragrance evokes an Aha-Great effect. A cozy, Caribbean image appears. Beach, flip-flops, rustling palms, and a wonderful dusky evening atmosphere.
But unfortunately, it remains just that brief moment. An extreme floral scent with a fantastic longevity. Just unfortunately too much Ylang-Ylang for me.
