MORE BARBERSHOP THAN BAKERY

It opens with a sweet, powdery cloud of lavender. Right away, I also pick up cistus, or labdanum, with its slightly cola-like facets, plus a touch of frankincense incense. At first, it doesn't really smell like vanilla at all. In fact, the opening leans quite masculine, driven by that aromatic lavender and the resinous, incense-like edge.

I kept wondering, where is the vanilla? It takes its time, but it eventually shows up. When it does, it's powdery and slightly vintage in character, not overly sweet. It mingles softly with the lavender, giving the composition a classic, almost old-school feel. The incense fades fairly quickly on my skin, stepping back to let the powdery elements take center stage.

The deep drydown becomes a sweet, powdery base that I recognize from several fragrances from this house. It has that slightly hairspray-ish quality. I'm not the biggest fan of that effect, to be honest.

Also, the note pyramid is not accurate. There is no citrus and definitely no thyme here. The correct structure is:

Top Notes: Lavender
Heart Notes: Coriander, Geranium, Labdanum
Base Notes: Vanilla, Sandalwood, Incense
