Silver Rain La Prairie 2004 Eau de Parfum

Balmy Fruit Salad
I find Silver Rain quite a fascinating fragrance. It's not what I had expected, and for that, I'm glad.
The first time I smelt this fragrance in the store, I was almost blown over backwards by the extent of its fruitiness. The blackberry accord is incredibly rich, jammy and sweet. I really liked the fact that it was sweet and fruity, despite the initial shock. My friend who was out shopping with me when I tried it, likened the opening to the scent of fruit salad.
Allowing Silver Rain to settle, I was once again surprised to find a more complex blend in the heart. It just keeps getting better. A sweet floral blend, made up of rose, jasmine and magnolia, tends to smooth out the fruitiness while still keeping things bold and fun.
I absolutely adore these raindrop inspired bottles. I'm so glad that the scent matches this exquisite bottle design.
The drydown is perhaps my favourite part in this fragrance's development. I loved the earthy and resinous blend of oud, patchouli and vanilla. The plum and blackberry accords are still present in these final moments, and blend beautifully with the balmy, oriental accords in the base. Silver Rain is such a sexy scent.
I'm not usually one of those girls that goes bananas over fruity scents, but this fragrance really rocks my socks. I can't wait to go back to the store and sniff it all over again. I highly recommend.
